Hello!
I'm experiencing strange issue - cannot start KVM guest on machine
under 2.6.32 openvz kernel. Booting into kernel 4.9 on the same
system, works perfectly okay. Error message:

***@nekotaz:~# virsh start debian-8-jessie-amd64-01
error: Failed to start domain debian-8-jessie-amd64-01
error: internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor:
2018-07-22T13:32:03.402797Z qemu-system-x86_64: cannot set up guest
memory 'pc.ram': Cannot allocate memory

VM definition for memory:
***@nekotaz:~# virsh dumpxml debian-8-jessie-amd64-01|fgrep -i memo
<memory unit='KiB'>2194304</memory>
<currentMemory unit='KiB'>2194304</currentMemory>

***@nekotaz:~# uname -r
2.6.32-openvz-042stab131.1-amd64
***@nekotaz:~# lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Debian
Description: Debian GNU/Linux 8.11 (jessie)
Release: 8.11
Codename: jessie

beancounters for host node shows 0 overruns (fail counter). Something
else is limiting, struggle to find what is it. Advises are appreciated
.

I recommend you to use Devuan Jessie instead, at host.

I don't know much about Devuan except it's a strange attempt to have
distro without systemd, but why do you think it will be helpful here?

Did you really succeed at running OpenVZ 6 with a Systemd OS?

Devuan is the most mature Debian derivative without Systemd.

Hello!
I don't see how switching to Devuan will help me to solve the issue.
On another side, i have no problem running stock Debian since Sarge
with openvz, for recent release (8.x) just need to change into
sysvinit.
I don't want to start systemd-related holy war here.
